The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Strategists groups.
Fans can expect learning which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
